Experiments in Public Art

Experiments in Public Art is an ongoing series of public interventions that serve as a city-wide laboratory expanding the potential of public art. Participating artists were selected, in part, by incorporating concepts and materials that extend beyond the notion of traditional art: How does an artist integrate science, nature, health, technology, or literacy into their process in a thought-provoking way? Portfolios of local, national and international artists working within these innovative contexts were reviewed the project’s selection panel.

Ten artists were recommended for commission by the project selection panel and commissioned through Boulder’s Office of Arts + Culture. A full list of participating artists will be announced over the course of the summer.
